Have you gone to a concert on the Today Show?
Has anyone ever gone to one of the concerts the Today Show holds in Rockerfeller Center? How crazy does it get? How early would I need to be there to be able to see the show? Thanks.

i went to the sting one about two years ago. it was crowded, but we got there late, like 7 or even later, i can't remember that well. we ended up standing behind the stage and got a pretty good view. not sure how early you'd need to get there if you want to be right up front. probably at least 5am. anyway, it's not too crazy b/c there's not a whole lot of space so...

7:00 is late? I was planning on getting there by 8ish, thinking that was early. Maybe I need to rethink this?
Do they play more songs than are shown on TV or just the 2 or 3 that is shown?

7am is very late.
Ppl sleep out on the streets for these shows and the others show up at about 4 or 5am.
By 7am depending on who it is, you might be Allllllllllllllllll the way in the back hardley able to see.

Thanks everyone for the information. I decided not to go. I really wanted to see Def Leppard today but could not see myself heading into the city and fighting people for a spot by 5am. I will just wait until July to see them!

lol- yeah, it gets a little crazy.
I went in to see Carole King (yeah, i'm an old person at heart), and we took at 4:something train.
By the time we got to the plaza, it was already pretty crowded, but I slithered my way up to the front.
(I have a 1.5 hr train ride to Penn)

I have to admit that I am a HUGE Def Leppard fan and they will always be the best in my heart but that didn't sound too good I see them everytime they come to town and they usually sound a lot better than that

i saw them along time ago when i was in the 7th grade at the coliseum. It was their 7 day weekend tour. It was my first concert. Tell kris to this day it was one of the best concerts i ever been to.

it's funny you mention that they didn't sound that great, b/c i've seen a lot of those concerts on tv and i'm starting to think there's something wrong with the setup or sound equipment they have. everyone sounds terrible! most notably maroon 5 and avril lavigne. but it seems to be a trend. or maybe it's just too early for all these artists...

I've seen Jon Bon Jovi there a few years ago, and Prince, and have gotten there at 5:30 am both times to get right up against the barricades.
