Lets talk "treats"

Okay WW gals- what are your favorite snacks? And how many points...

(fellow dieters add yours too)

I love all the 100 cal packs- but my favs are smart ones white chedder popcorn and the choc/caramel chex mix. 2 pts each (side note: a box of 100 cal popcorn contains 5 bags for like $4- stop and shop sells a big bag of 12 individual bags for $3+, it DOES NOT say 100 cal across the front BUT it has the same nutrition facts/same serving size- basically you are paying more $$$ because it says 100 cal across the front)

Swirly swirl italian ice-2pts each (I love the cotton candy and "hurricane" flavored one)

Low fat choc. gram cracker split in 2, with cool whip free inbetween (like a sandwich) frozen- 2pt (tastes just like an ice cream sandwich

I love TCBY sugar free flavors w/ graham cracker crumbs as a topping.

I also am a big fan of the wasa crackers with light cream cheese.

My husband also makes choc. pudding pie. With sugar free pudding and a low cal frozen crust.

Re: Lets talk "treats"

I really don't snack. Well, I have a meal as a snack. Like I have one breakfast in the morning at 7:00, then at 10:00 I have greek yogurt or like today I'm having fruit, or a fiber bar or something. Then in the afternoon, I have a piece of fruit.

If I snack at night, I have:

Honey Wheat pretzles...2 pts for 8 (or 10, I can't remember now)

WW ice cream...1 or 2 pts, depending on which one I get

Light bon bell cheese

WW dark choc raspberry bar...1 pt

Re: Lets talk "treats"

I am with Steph I don't really snack. I've replaced all those 100 calorie type things with fruit or baby carrots. My body responds better to those kind of snacks.

Other than that I'll have a minibag of popcorn or some hummus if I'm feeling saucy.

My guilty pleasure however is fat free chocolate ice cream from Proportion Cafe (in Selden and Stony Brook). I get a small cone with chocolate sprinkles and it's 4 points and to die for Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Lets talk "treats"

I don't really eat "treats" - like others said, I find my body responds better, and I feel better overall when I concentrate on making healthy choices for all my meals and snacks.

So, a typical snack for me is the following:

Baby carrots
Snap peas
Fruit (watermelon, pineapple, canteloupe, apples, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, etc)
Lowfat laughing cow cheese
Lowfat cottage cheese
Lowfat yogurt
Hummus
Puffins (cereal - 1 cup is 1 point)

Every once in a while I do treat myself to a skinny cow sandwich. And I do often bake lowfat, whole wheat, low sugar treats, like muffins, banana bread, apple crumble, etc, which are low in points because I use barely any butter and sugar.

The key really for me is to eat every 2-3 hours, somethiing healthy. I find that if I eat every 2-3 hours, those cravings all but disappear. I only feel like ravaging a whole chunk of chocolate or bin of ice cream when I'm starving.

The PB sauce is off the hook!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I try to avoid it now Chat Icon

I have recently switched to the SB one because I like their food and their salads better.
They have an eggplant parm that is to die for but I have heard that the points may not be as accurate as they say on that particular meal. I don't really care though - I choose to look the other way on that one Chat Icon

I try to do the same, and it really does help. I find I'm not raiding the fridge when I get home. I do have my "off" days though, but we all deserve one of those from time to time.
