What's your favorite thing to do in Philadelphia?

We're going July 4th, 5th & 6th.

We have tickets to the mets game on the 5th (at night), and I'm sure we'll be watching the fireworks the night of the 4th...but we're looking for suggestions for things to do the rest of the time.

We'll hit a few museums, I'm sure (please rec your favorite!)...we'll see the liberty bell, etc....

Looking for anything cool!

Oooh...Nicole...do you like Mexican food? I know of a great Mexican place...called El Vez on South 13th Street. You should check it out...

There's also a good gelato place across the street, but, I forget the name...

i grew up in south jersey right outside philly...
you should defnitely check out the zoo! its cute there!
also- the NJ aquarium is right across the river and is fun, too.
the franklin institute is a great museum, too with lots of cool sciency stuff.
and then theres always the art museum- i've never been in it, but you can be all Rocky Balboa- like and run up all the steps! LOL

There's the whole historic center near Independence Place. There's a fun bus/water/boat tour you can take...i think it's called the Duck Tour? It goes right from the street into the river and covers all the historic places.

For an education experience, the Constitution Center is really cool, interactive and very centrally located.

Lots of good places to eat too, just wander up and down Chestnut and Walnut St. They're a couple of blocks from Market.

you gotta do the battle of the cheesesteaks! the two best cheesesteak palces are right next to each other... Gino's... and i think the other one is pat's. it's fun to do a taste test!

i think they're on 9th street... don't quote me on it though.

you also have to go to Penn's Landing and stroll up and down South Street.

I've been to Philly 4th of july... jsut a warning, it will be MOBBED for the fireworks. Good luck!

I love Philly and what an AWESOME time to go!

My favorite things are the historical sites.

There's also a great little sex shop called The Mood, and its less classy sister store, Condom Kingdom,

South street is awesome for shopping.

I also like the Franklin Institute!

ETA: Where are you staying?

I've only stayed at the Hyatt there, and of course Doug's dorm.
