Recomend baby's sunscreen - little baby
DD is only 2 months old, but the doctor said for prolonged time out doors - even in the shade since they still get some of the suns rays... to use a very small amount of sunscreen in exposed areas.
Which one's are good? What should I definitely not use?

For a little baby, I would recommend Blue Lizard. You can find it at CVS. That is the only one my doc would "allow" me to use when DS was 3 mo.

I also agree. This is what we use also on DD now, she has sensitive skin.

Me too, but I know I burn easily and I can't imagine keeping her indoors all summer long. We do our best to keep her in the shade and covered (which is really hard b/c she sweats easily), but still some sun comes in. Doctor said to use it very sparingly - only a little in exposed areas when we are outside for long periods of time.
I'm sure the benefits of protecting such delicate skin outweigh whatever risks are associated with sunscreen. Not to say I would slather it on either though.

DS is 2 months old- and my doc said the same thing. We haven't needed to use any yet, but we got Aveeno baby Sensative Skin sunscreen at Rite Aid. My ped. recommended we use that one.

DD is 2 months and her doctor recommended Aveeno baby sunscreen. He said it is better to have sunscreen on her in the summer than to be without.

Re: Recomend baby's sunscreen - little baby
Just wanted to say that I had bought Aveeno sun block for babies and i DO NOT recommend it.
I use the Tear Free on her face but it didnt matter.. it got in her eye and I had to spend an hour flushing her eye out.
Not an easy task with a 2 year old..

I have had the same problem with DD - when she rubs her eyes after I put it on, she gets some in them.
I also wanted to say that we tried another (generic) brand for the first time that we used sunscreen at 10 months and she had a horrible allergic reaction - her eyes swelled up and she got a bad rash on her face and head.
I would definitely recommend trying a little bit at a time and for the first time you use it, try it at home incase there is a problem. We were going on a boat for the day and I am so glad that she had the reaction at home instead of on the boat - I don't know what I would have done then.
Thankfully, we had childrens liquid benedryl in the house so when the dr called me back (of course it was on a weekend!) we could give it to her right away.
