we stayed at the Bluebay Villas Doradas. Rated #3 on Tripadvisor.
Best thing was that it was adults only so it was a relaxing 4 day weekend

Flight
We took Jetblue both ways. Sorely disappointed with the flight both ways. Chairs didn't recline...Tvs didn't work. I already emailed them a complaint.But on a positive note, flights were scheduled to be 4 hours long. We got there in 3 hours and back home 3 hours 15 minutes

Rooms were plain but modern and had very comfortable bed.

Ant eating in the main buffet rest (open air also).Food was ok but of course I don't expect equisite cuisine at an all inclusive.

regular gas comes out to be approximately 5.76 a gallon. Most people ride mopeds there

There were 3 a la carte restaurants. We ate the last night at the Jade Garden oriental one. Again decent food.



All in all, it was a great relaxing weekend. Every day it rained for a little bit but it downpoured when we were out on ATVs and on our last day there when we wanted to spend the morning on the beach.
Puerto Plata is very small and hotels are only 2-3 stories high, not high rise resorts like Cancun.The people are extremely nice and work really hard.

I guess me and Ant had the upper hand since I speak spanish fluently but most people there also speak English. Most tourists at the resort were from Enfland, than Canada, then Hungary. The few Americans that were there were New Yorkers

I gave dollar bills to kids, tips to batenders and maids and left the maids little packages of pencils, crayons and coloring books for them to take to their families....

Looks like you had a nice time! I will be flying into POP next month! We will be staying in a Lifestyles Crown Villa with some friends on Cofresi beach. Your pics are getting me psyched!

Great pics and I love your dresses! I remember being in PP a few years ago and seeing how poorly the people live. I'm glad you had a good time!
