send good thoughts this way please
I was just discharged from hospital after a three day stay. I had gone to peri for normal check up and to his surprise (and mine) I was already starting to efface. He sent me to hospital to monitor my contractions and the ob met me there, and then decided to admit me based on my readings. Thankfully the FFN test was negative but he said I'd be very lucky if I made it to 28 weeks.
Has anyone been told a certain number of weeks to expect to go by and then totally surpassed it? I'm really hoping to bake these babies as long as possible. Its just seems so unfair to go thru so much to get pregnant in the first place to have babies born with health problems but I will continue to think positive and concentrate on keeping them in as long as possible.
I will be 25 weeks on Tuesday and am now on strict bed rest at home. Please send all good vibes this way!!!!!!!!

Re: send good thoughts this way please
My prayers are with you. I did not have the same problem, however, my cervix became really short at 29 weeks and they admitted me to the hospital twins before I gave birth at 34.5 weeks.
I am surprised they let you go home. I had to beg and plead for them to let me get out of the hospital. I really wanted to be on bedrest at home.
Try not to stress too much...everything will be ok.

Re: send good thoughts this way please
I was in the hospital last week for contractions. I am dilated and effaced and was in there for 5 days. It took 2 days to get the contractions under control. Now I am home on terbutaline and strict bedrest. Are you on anything?
It is scary, but at least they caught it and are putting you on bedrest now.
To give us both hope, I will say how I was told by several people that they or someone they know was in this situation at 24 weeks and ended up going almost to or full-term.
You will be in my thoughts....

I had a similar situation also, and at 21 weeks was already 2cm dialated and contracting, which I didn't even feel. I was put on strict bedrest, first at home for a couple of weeks, then in the hospital. The goal was to get me to 28 weeks, well, I made it to 36 weeks and eveything worked out fine, my babies just turned three last month.

Re: send good thoughts this way please
I had a shortened cervix, found at 24 weeks. They "wanted" me to get to 30, then 32, etc. I made it to 36 weeks and my DDs were born healthy. Good luck!!!
