Not really a cook but I do have a ? about Oil
I cook everything with Olive Oil. Just wondering what kind of oil do you cook with and do you use the same oil for everything?

I use canola oil for baking, cause I dont want my brownies to taste like olive.
Also, olive oil has a very low smoke point, so its not good for frying, like if you were making chicken or eggplant parm. You could use it, but it would make a lot of smoke.

I use vegetable oil for baking and for rice and beans but I mostly use olive oil for my cooking

I use Olive Oil for everything! Baking and cooking. Although the other day I used Applesauce as an oil substitute.
I have an unopened bottle of Vegetable Oil in my closet that I have never used yet. I dont even know why I bought it? LOL

easy rule of thumb-
sweet things- vegetable or canola
foody things- olive oil
exception - when you are pan frying sometimes its easier to use al ighter oil like canola

I agree..sweet, vegetable or canola-savory olive oil or I use grapeseed oil sometimes as an alt.
Always bake with Canola. Sautee with olive oil and deep fry with canola.

I don't get it but then again it took me 20 plus years until I knew the difference between the oven and stove. I use to say does it go inside the box or on top of that flat thing...

we use olive oil for cooking but I have a bottle of veg oil for baking pre-made mixes like brownies.

I don't really bake at all so I use Olive, Sunflower, or Sesame oil depending on what I'm cooking.
