Need help finding a charity...
My MIL is getting re-married in September and she and her FH do not want to accept gifts. In lieu of gifts they would like people to donate to a shelter or soup kitchen, etc. She is looking for charity suggestions, if anyone has any.

www.brighstepsforward.org its a charity that raises money for families that cant afford to get treatment for there children with Cerebal Palsey, autisum, and severe brain trauma (bad car accident's any head injuries) insurance companies only cover so much.. This is really a wonderful charity and I am so proud to be involved in it.. Take a look at the website.. Its 100% NON PROFIT!

INN - Interfaith Nutrition Network
Helps those on Long Island with food, clothing and shelter.
Fulton Ave - Hempstead is their HQ but I know they have branch sites. I think one is in Patchogue.

I Volunteer here Every Monday!!!! I love this charity as well.. I have to tell you though there is so much clothes they do not know what to do with all of it.. They actually give it away to the salvation army. The Soup Kitchen is located at 100 Madison Ave in Hempstead.. If you ever want to volunteer as well.
