those who have flown recently
we're going to hawaii a week from today i know airlines are starting to charge for meals... and our travel agent had suggested making sandwiches, bringing our own snacks, etc with us. its a long flight... i looked on the TSA website but it didn't give too much info about what foods you are/aren;t allowed to bring onboard, or how much... any info would be great! thanks!

My sister allows brings sandwiches on board. She gets them at Subway or whatever place is in the Airport and puts it in her pocketbook. They bring all types of sandwiches.

I don't think there is rules with food, liquids is another thing.
I always bring sandwiches and snacks when I fly.

No jars of peanut butter, jelly or yogurt. I flew 3 weeks ago and TSA was screaming that if you had any of those items in your bag it would be confiscated.
I always bring bagels with me and no problems.

Re: those who have flown recently
We usually bring snacks and sandwiches from outside the airport on long flights - even when they were serving a meal (because who knows what it would taste like).
You can still do it - just get your drink after security or on board the plane.
