Barbados

anyone ever go? any recommendations/tips? we're hoping to go 1st week of June and are thinking of staying at the fairmont.

DH and I went on our honeymoon -- We stayed at the Coral Reef Resort. It was wonderful -- my favorite of all the Carribean. The natives are friendly, educated and poverty is not such an issue. We felt safe everywhere, even in the cities on our own (not so in Jamaica).

The beaches are great -- and some amazing restaurants. We went horseback riding on the beach, and lots of water sports. You can swim with the giant turtles, and scuba dive and golf and windsurf, etc... We went to Harrison's caves which were awesome as were the Botanical Gardens. I can give you specifics if you like, just FM me!!

It is pricey though, just be aware of that.

Thanks so much for the info. From everything I've read it sounds beautiful and like a lot of fun. When you say its pricey, do you mean restaurants and entertainment or hotel (or both)? TIA!

Restaurants and hotels are pricey -- if you can find a good deal grab it!!

I went to Barbados a few years ago!! Had a great time I forgot the name of the place we stayed in I will get it for ya. Pricey but we also went with our timeshare which helped allot!! My husband is a huge surfer so that is why we went!! The beaches are beautiful
