Would you retake pictures?
Poor DS did not nap at all the morning of his baptism this Saturday.
He screamed the whole time we dressed him bc he was so overtired and ended up sleeping during the whole ceremony.
We immediately changed him afterwards bc it was a huge baptism gown, he was drenched in sweat and it was 90 degrees on Sat., plus we were late to the reception already.
I have a couple of decent pics of DS being held, or asleep but no close-ups of him alone in his baptism gown.
Part of me wants to put it on him again to take pics, but then I keep thinking that even a good pic of him would not be in the spirit of the actual day.
I have nothing nice to put in an album/scrapbook or as a Thank You.
WWYD? Retake pics or not?

Re: Would you retake pictures?
What about having professional pics taken at target or sears?

Re: Would you retake pictures?
Of course I would.. I took more pics of my DS after his christening in the garden at my parents house..
I didn't have one pic of just him alone to send out in the thank yous..
I don't think that's weird at all

Re: Would you retake pictures?
I have seen beautiful ones done in studios. My wedding photog. does a lot of them and I am sure they are not all done on the day of the baptism. Definitely have some taken.

Re: Would you retake pictures?
I didn't get great pics of DD at her Christening either. I had planned on dressing her again and taking other pics but then I just never did it. I had the same feelings as you about it not being from the "actual day".
I say do it anyway. If after you take them you feel like it's not the same because it wasn't from the day then don't use them. At least you'll have them and I'm sure you'll be happy with them!!!

Re: Would you retake pictures?
We had to retake pics of DS in his gown because he slept throught the ceremony and party. We took them over the week after the baptism to make sure we had a good one.

Re: Would you retake pictures?
I retook the pics at home one day when I was bored.
The day was so crazy, that I did not get any good shots...so I dressed him up and posed him. So happy I did

I took professional pictures before so there is nothing wrong with professional pictures after.

Re: Would you retake pictures?
I would definitely re-take them. I didn't and really wish I had. DD wore the same gown my sister & I did and I have no good pics of DD wearing it.

Re: Would you retake pictures?
My DD's Baptism was Sunday and it was really hot as well. We took a lot of pictures of her, but we don't have any of her alone in her dress. I am going to dress her up this weekend and take some "formal" ones of her alone. I have over 200+ from the day itself.

Re: Would you retake pictures?
I would definitely retake the pictures. I did the same for my DS's christening and I took so many of him on the actual day. All the pictures on his Christening thank you are from pictures I took of him in his outfit the next week.

Re: Would you retake pictures?
Why not retake? That way he can have nice pictures to look at someday.
A woman I work with DS turned one 2 months ago. So many things went wrong especially his favorite character that she hired not showing up. So the character is coming next month for her DD's party and she will have another cake for DS and take new pictures so he can remember his party.
