water sonogram?
has anyone had this? Due to the failed hsg attempt, my doctor has recommended this test and I just dont know what to expect.

Well this is basically a combination of an IUI and a vaginal u/s
This test will not show the status of your tubes but it will however, show anything in your uterus. It will detect, fibroids, polyps and structure of the uterus.
What they do is use a spectulum to access your cervix, insert a thin catheter with the saline solution...and then they insert vaginal probe to view your uterine cavity.
It was absolutely painless for me. However, if there was an issue with your cervix,...you may want to question what they will do to ease the catheter in.

thanks. I am feeling really anxious about this. The doctor feels that he will be able to insert the catheter easier than a radiologist (the guy who tried to do the hsg). But you are right, if there is a problem with my cervix, how will he get it in. I will keep you updated, I go tomorrow evening.
