I'm leaving on Fri. to go to DR. I was told by someone that I need to pay $20 per person to leave the country on my way home. Anyone know if that's true?? I never heard of paying to leave a country.

I do know that you will be required to fill out a form on the plane, so bring a pen, and when you get off the plane in the DR and you walk through the door you will need to go right to the counter that will be in front of you....Hand in the filled out form and then pay $10 or $20 each....I think it was $10.
I am not sure about the way home....I dont remember.....I just remember what we had to do on the way there...

Same here. We had to pay $10 each when we got to DR. It's basically just a tourist fee.

Yes, there is a tourist fee. I don't remember how much it was....I was there a few years ago.

that sounds about right, and I remember paying to leave Mexico too.

i was just in Punta Cana in May--you have to pay $10 per person to enter DR but you pay nothing to leave.
You basically stand in a line--pay $10 per person and get a little card--and then you walk 5 ft and a guy takes the card you just paid $10 for.

I just got back. I was able to buy it at the airport when I checked my luggage (Newark) and it was only 10$. If you don't get it then you will once you get into the airport in the DR.
