fertility friend question
so this is my first month of charting (i'm not temping) and i'm using fertility friend just to keep track of things. my question is will it tell you when you're o'ing even if you're not temping? and if so how long does it take them to do it? all signs point to me o'ing on the 23rd/24th, but the site says i'm still waiting for it. just a bit confused. tia!

Re: fertility friend question
well, you can gauge your "O" by CM but without temping it is kind of hard;
however, as stated in another thread, temping tells you AFTER you have already ovulated - by the temperature shift, it confirms if "O" has indeed occurred
except for possible physical symptoms and CM i dont know how the computer could estimate "O" without other info

What signs are you talking about?
Are you using OPKs or CBEFM? If so, then FF will definitely give you an O date. You can choose the way in which FF determines your O date.
There are four options:
Advanced - This uses ALL fertility signs and looks for patterns.
Research Detector - I think this is a VIP feature that uses the most current research to determine O dates.
Fertility Awareness - Uses the Fertility Awareness Method (you can google this for more info, it's a widely known method)
OPK/Monitor - This relies ONLY on your OPK or CBEFM
ETA:
How long are your cycles typically? Have you entered in your last few AF dates into FF? If so, it might just be basing it off a typical 14 day LP and taking into account your previous cycle lengths.

true and many of us do NOT have typical cycles

my cycles were fairly regular until i decided to start charting which happened to coincide with the few months before my wedding. with the stress and everything i didn't get AF for 3 months and had to go back on the pill for a month to kick start her. that being said this is the only month i've entered in so far.
the symptoms i was talking about are EWCM, O pains, sensitivity, etc. i'm just getting a hang of all this though so i could be completely wrong. i'm away this month so i'm not doing OPKs or temping.

Re: fertility friend question
Okay well it seems like you aren't really wanting to get too involved in TTC this month due to all of those factors.
To be safe, you might want to just BD every other day until AF is expected so that you cover your bases without having to use OPKs or anything.
Best of luck!

thanks. that's what we were planning on, but i'm still trying to get the knack of navigating this chart.
