Cheap Books - Where to find?
My son is a big reader. He'd rather sit and read his entire bookshelf with me than play with his toys or watch a show. But I think he (and I!) are getting tired of reading the same things over and over again. I did notice that he has books that daycare gave him as a Birthday present that say $1 on the back, but not where they're from. They're short, sesame st. board books-only 4 pages long, but lots of things to point out on the pages and name and talk about. I'm looking for this type of thing. Where else besides the dollar store can I find cheap books?

Once Upon a Child has a section of gently used books that are cheap. You can also check the library for book sales.

LOL! True! And I'm sure one day I'll be living there. But right now, we're not exactly in the library stage. He's 15 months and still puts them all in his mouth--many have bite marks and water marks. Anything with paper pages doesn't stand a chance. I'll wait till he's a little older and I don't have to worry about about what'll happen to a book in his hands...or the dogs.
Thanks for the ideas. My ILs leave near Selden Thrift so I'll try that one next ime we go over, and Bargain Books.

Re: Cheap Books - Where to find?
I always take advantage of the Kohls Cares for Kids books- they are $5- hardcover and the titles are excellent. Right now they have the Eric Carle books- Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and three other titles. They's probably be at least ten dollars more at Borders.

libraries SELL all (or most) books that are donated to them. so they usually have lots of current books that people just are done with and pass on.

Yeah, I don't know what they go for now, but I remember when I was little buying books from the library for like 10cents each.

Re: Cheap Books - Where to find?
You can check the Dollar Tree.
Also I highly recommend the library. We've been going once a week all summer. It is great because they have a lot of puzzles and games so we usually sit in the kiddie area for a while and play. Then we'll read some books and pick out some books to borrow. Since we go every week we always have new/different books to read during the week, and the great thing is that it's all free!

Most libraries have a whole section of board books in the children's section.

the library is the best I feel....and they always have donated books for sale super cheap...
both my kids love going there to play with the puzzles and blocks and then borrow some books..
