Diverticulitis?
Anyone have or had this? I was just diagnosed with this. Have not talked to my doctor today but have been researching it online. Is this something I am now going to live with or will it heal and go away on its own? I am currently on Cipro and need to change my diet to high fiber. Any info/experiences would be appreciated!

Re: Diverticulitis?
2 of my uncles have it. I don't believe it ever goes away. You have to change your diet. I know my uncles can't eat anything with seeds. They can't eat popcorn, no nuts... Your Dr. should be able to give you a whole list of foods that aren't good to eat.
Sorry you're dealing with it...

Re: Diverticulitis?
it's not curable and may flare occasionally. There may be times when you don't notice it at all and times when you are sick.
Mostly seeds, some nuts and alcohol irritate it. Seeds can get stuck so I would avoid at all costs.
I hope you feel better and are able to get a nice long time without a flare.

Re: Diverticulitis?
My BIL had it....it does not go away and like previous posters said be careful of what you eat now. He can't even have bananas because they have seeds in them
