Holy $hit, Con Ed!!!
We have a 1 bedroom apartment. We have an A/C unit in the living room and another in the bedroom. Our bill this month...

wait for it...
$191.02  Seriously??? What the hell is the bill for a house?

Oh, and can I add that LAST summer, same A/C units, same TV, the bill was $98? How the he!! does it go up one hundred dollars?  We don't do anything different.
Isn't that like a 95% increase?

i live in a 2 bedroom a apt. i never really leave lights on maybe one or 2. for 1 month is was almost 400..and my landlord bill was 130 n i dont understand why. i leave my acs on but they are energry savers!.

TO $265
and we have electric heat- so it's not like we don't use alot in the winter

Con Ed raised their rates by 22%!! It was in all of the papers weeks ago. :(

I just got mine. I have the same, a 1bdrm with 2 a/c units.
My bill was $213!
And we don't have either a/c on during the weekdays!

I feel your pain - our Con Ed bill was $181. We're in a 3 bedroom, but the same - use two ACs one in LR, one in our BR. Their rates increased 22%, I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.
I'm just resigned to another bill for August just like July's, and then I'm pretty sure it will come down significantly.

Yeah...but last summer, it was 15cents/kwh. Raised to 22% and it's now 17cents/kwh.
That should only raise the bill by $7.
Now, according to this bill, we have a service charge of $40 AND our usage doubled. How did our usage double? We haven't changed our lifestyle!

OMG!! I thought that it was only just me! I get on my fiance everyday about running the a/c unit all the time because our bill was $191. Now, our bill this month was $228, remind you we only have a 1 bedroom apt and i was nagging him and complaining to him about this. I am glad I'm not the only one that is experience this type of high bill. This is crazy!!!!! Plus, the price of gas in your car as well. We are going to be in the poor house if things like this keep going up on us.

Make sure that you check your meters! A few years back, the estimated reading was way off....I called up and they adjusted the bill accordingly!

LOL i have a large studio apt. Only one ac but the ac is 12000btu. (Large open area and my apt gets extremely hot)
my bill was 166.99
