I'm sure there will be plenty of people's homes that I may not allow my children to go to, regardless of their occupation... Someone could be a doctor, lawyer, etc and still be an unfit parent.

I'm taking it to mean "there is a story there"...and there definitey it. His parents molested him when he was younger, he forgave them & he regularly has them over....also at his kid's birthday parties.
etd. we should have put a amendment on the poll to say "provided the house was as child friendly or physically safe as your own" because in talking to my co-workers that seems to be a big issue.
It seems what this post is really about is are you going to allow your child to be friends with another child if his parents have values you are morally opposed to. Since we all have some set of morals, we would all be able to answer.

I said probably yes because it would depend on their home environment. As long as the porn isn't on the tv & she's always child-appropriate, I have no problem with it. I think.

#2 Barb's and I are cool and she "got" it
#3 doesn't matter what someone does for a living, it matters how your child will be treated in their home, therefore WOOHOO these people are "society" acceptable and BARB feels them UNFIT to have her kids there

#4 my MIL is head nurse of ICU unit in a very well know hospital and she is beyond unifit. she should be shot dead.. Hence why my child will never see her..

I didn't realize I wasn't cool b/c I didn't "get it"...
And I figured #3 was the obvious and that Barb obviously had a reason why her kids couldn't go to that persons home.

My response remains the same...
I would have to check out the enviroment before I would allow my kids to go to thier house...But I do that anyway.
Funny part of it is..that now that I think about it..If my girls became friends with someone whose mom was an ex porn star...and I found out that other people werent letting thier kids go there just b/c she was an ex porn star...I would make a point of letting my child play with said child (after making sure the home was appropriate)...

This became an office conversation at my job yesterday I asked some parents and the majority were against home visits becuase they felt it went against their morals/values.
I gave alot of thought and basically if it is someone I just met and trying to forge a relationship with playdates will be at my house. As others have met truely kindhearted people who just use it as a career I have met BOTH the ones who just WORK and those who immerse themselves in all it has to offer-Sodom and Gomorrah lifestyle so while I try to figure out what type of person this mom is reapeat---all playdates are at my house This way I retain control as to who my kids are around thats my only concern regardless of if you are a pron star or the president. I dont care what job you have (although some raise flags quicker than others) I care that my kiddies will be in an environment that reinforces the values I intend to teach them.
