need advice
I went to the doctor the other day and he diagnosed a bad sore under my nose as a form of herpes. He said not to try and get pregnant this month b/c it can go to the baby. Has anyone every heard of this? The thing is I always get this sore when I get a cold so what if I get one when I'm pregnant?

Re: need advice
I would go see an ob/gyn for advice- it sounds like, if it is on your face it is oral herpes. Oral herpes is very common- people get cold sores all of the time.
I thought that genital herpes could only go to your baby during delivery and if the mom had an outbreak during labor they do a c-section. I could be wrong but I wouldn't panic- talk to your ob/gyn.

Re: need advice
If it is herpes it is oral. I get cold sores a few times a year. My cousin however has genital herpes and just had a baby. The doctor just checks her before delivery to see if she has an outbreak because it can only spread to the baby if you deliver with an outbreak. However, when she had her baby on New Years Day (ohhhhhhhh ) she had a normal delivery because there was no outbreak. So don't worry about it. A baby will not get it.
