Talk about INSULTATING, THIS TAKES THE EMMY!
Okay so I am at work, I manage a doctors office.... this patient comes in and gives me this beautiful gift from Ralph lauren for helping her out all year etc. I really have gone out of my way for her... anyway, she gives me this present with a beautiful card, and I thank her. Keep in mind this woman is a size 3 if she is lucky... she says to me....... Mind you I need to maybe lose 20 pounds,I am not a skinny mini, but by NO MEANS am I a large person, (500 Lbs.) I have lost about 60 since I got engaged and married and have kept it all off..... I tell anyone that is having a kid to get in shape and to have gastric bypass surgery! I just looked at her and said, I do not qualify for that surgery, I do not need to lose that much weight... I must have been in shock and hurt and insulted. then she says maybe going to a psychologist will help you get the rest of the weight off!!!!!!! I cannot believe this woman and what if I did need to lose 100 pounds or more is it her business. I am convinced this woman has an eating disorder. I am so self conscious now, I had a chopped salad for lunch. Mind you I have a very big chest.. so I am always self conscious of myself , ( DDD cup sorry of TMI) Man, people are so cruel when you are of child bearing age. What if I was pregnant and trying to keep it a secret for the first trimester... I would be crushed. ( No I am not pregnant yet.) But I am so speechless, i had to share this with all of you. I think I need hugs! PS This woman is NOT getting a thank you note from me , and I am the queen of thank you notes and cards.

Sometimes I wonder why people are so rude to others, especially to others that reach out to help them. I am sure her Ralph Lauren gift was nice but her kindness would be a greater gift.
Sorry you dealt with that today, people are just self absorbed and say ridiculous things

Yuck- how rude!! And, how unbelievably stupid of her! Sorry that you had to deal with that today! She's probably just jealous because you have nice boobs and she doesn't!
My mom is really skinny (because she never eats) and she always makes comments that I need to lose weight- I try and remember that at least I can enjoy myself and eat like a rel person!! See, that woman must be miserable with herself to make rude comments like that!

I am so shocked by what that woman said to you! That was completely wrong, rude and uncalled for! I agree with what casey31 said, when people put others down, it's because they're unhappy with themselves. Making other people feel bad makes them feel better about themselves. Please do not take her cruel comments to heart! Plus, her "logic" that a gastric bypass is needed before having a child is crazy! A pregnant woman needs nutrition for both herself and her baby - and people with gastric bypasses have difficulty getting enough nutrients for just themselves! Hold your head up high and pay no mind to her ridiculous comments!

Awww I feel horrible. That is really uncouth! Next time she comes in you should come up with something to say to her. Like, "I appreciated your gift, too bad it was soured by your comments about my weight and then laugh hysterically! So you can pretend it was a joke if your boss asks you but still get a dig in! She needs to know that is not an appropriate comment.

i figure i give you hugs! i am not normally on here i lurk! i will be on here in the middle of the year i will be trying to conceive than by july or august! i have to get my bloodtest done and i had my other test done on thursday which came out good so i am on my way!!! but if i do find a interesting topic i post! I hope you all dont mind?

I'm so sorry! Honestly, that woman sounds INSANE! That is just a ridiculous thing to say! I'm sure it has less to do with with you and whether or not you need to lose weight and more to do with the fact that she is CRAZY!

I am sorry that was very rude of her If that was me I wouldnt be able to keep my kool. But from the way she sounds she is probably very self conscience herself. some times the skinniest of people are. I was 120 pounds before I had my son and I kept trying to lose more and more weight and everyone told me for my height and all I looked anorexic needlesss to say I used to be. but now I have gained over 80 lbs from having him and Im not as big as a house everyone says I look more healthy but now I am very self conscience. it doesnt matter if someone is fat or skinny they can still not like the way they look and making rude comments like that probably making her feel better in some strange way. sorry again
