first time going to Coney Island
I'll be going to coney island for the first time ever & I'm really excited.. Is there anything I should know about before going?
Also what is Deno's Wonder Wheel? Is that a separate park?

Have fun! I went last year with my niece and that Wonder Wheel scared the poop out of me
  This shows you how high you go!
And you have to play "Shoot the freak". My niece and I were hysterical laughing.

I just went in June with my niece...it was fun, but EXPENSIVE
If you go during the week you can get a pass for the rides, on the weekends, you have to pay per ride.. it's crazy.
Go early also...later in the afternoon (4pm or so) some of the gangs were out...

I agree with the going early- my hubby is a cop over there and you need to be a bit more careful at night... it's not the greatest in the evenings...

I was just about to say that you have to play "shoot the freak" LOL. DH and I got a kick out of that!! I went back in May just to take picture and eat.

just was there in june for the Mermaid parade. it is so much fun! but it is $$$ -- you spend your money QUICK without realizing it--especially with the rides.
be careful of the bumper cars----they are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. there is NO restraint in them and i seriously nearly was ejected from my bumper car like 10x

I had whiplash from the cyclone and it was horrible. I will NEVER go on another roller coaster again. THis happened in 1995, and I have never been on another one to this day.

We are going to try & go this weekend.
I pulled my neck at great adventure on the scream machine like 15 years ago & I remember that it hurt soo bad.. keeping your neck straight is really hard on these things.

meeeeee tooooooooo!!!
I went during 4th of july weekend....and had fun....BUT the Cyclone kicked my a$$!!! I couldn't move for 5 days my back was so messed up. We went on it twice....and although it broke me....it was SO MUCH fun! I love rollercoasters! It was worth the pain! haha!
I agree about going late....i was a little scared!
