Question for Mommies of Angels
(I hope that it is ok for me to post this here... if not I"m sorry!)
I have been looking for a place to chat with other Mommies (and Daddies too) of angels. I find that no matter how close I might be to someone, I don't really have anyone who truly understands how I feel (from little "nothing" things that throw off my whole day to the "big" things that completly throw me for a loop... to the "small successes" that I have... like maybe not breaking down and crying for a day...).
I have yet to really find somewhere to do this, so I've decided that I'd like to start a page on facebook dedicated just to us. It would be a page where we can just come and just say what we need to say and actually have people understand what we mean! We could also post photos and/or videos... whatever we want! The good thing is that we can also control who joins the group.
I guess basically I am asking if anyone here would be interested in something like this before I actually start it up.
Thanks!

Re: Question for Mommies of Angels
Have you ever heard of SPALS? I belong to this group...it's like an email group...not really a website per se...
SPALS stands for Subsequent Pregnancy After Loss...and although I haven't been blessed yet with a baby after my own loss...I have found TONS of support from the many people who belong to the group.
I know what you mean...about people just not understanding what it's like to deal with the loss of a baby...it's something only other people who have been through that you can truly relate to. However, I'm having difficulties now finding support from a group like this because not only have I gone through the loss of my son, but, now I'm divorced. It's hard, really really hard...

I've never heard of them. I've checked out a few different groups but I never found one that "fit" if that makes sense. I can only imagine how much more difficult the divorce makes all of this for you. My husband and I have been heading down that road as well, but not until after my daughter was born. Go figure!

I think it's a wonderful idea and you can put into it what you want...it's not a mandatory thing.
Jennifer - I think of you all the time...I hope you continue to find the strength to go on and find the right person to walk the rest of this path with you.

Re: Question for Mommies of Angels
Sounds good to me....
As the senior member of the Angel Mommies I second the motion!!!!....
All these years later I still find myself stumbling over the answer to the simplest of questions...."how many children do you have"...
I miss my sons every day and it's been over 15 years...It's taken the birth of my son to fully understand why they had to leave. But it still doesnt make things any easier...
I know I have spoken to Gertyrae & Doodles about getting together..and we just never seem to get there...
I look forward to this coming to fruition please keep me posted...

Re: Question for Mommies of Angels
Tara - I posted on the facebook page and look forward to another place for solace to discuss the pain we continue to go through.
Would you ladies like to try for a gtg again? It does make such a difference to be with women who have experienced the loss you have.
Jennifer, while I am happy to see you posting again - I am so sorry your marriage did not work out. I know there were many times for Chris and I that I wondered if we would survive too. Sending you FM

Re: Question for Mommies of Angels
I would love a place we could all come together. I always wonder why we have NOTHING on LI for woman/families like us.
I lost my son 2 years ago and not a day goes by that i don't have a lump in my throat. Life is NOT fair.
Did anyone buy an Angel of Hope brick?
No one who has not been where we are can understand. I tell people all the time- NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND and i hope you never do.
I to struggle with simple questions like how many children do you have or when i was pregnant with my 2nd child people asking if it was my first since no one saw me with a child. These little things make our day so much harder.
Some days i just pray to get trhough the hour!
