Please help
I am a regular poster in hiding, I got my bfp last Sunday and it is very early. I had a previous miscarriage about 3 months ago and I am very nervous. My question is my doctor called and told me my beta level was 80 and my progesterone was 16, she thought that the beta was kind of low and I went for more tests yesterday. I am waiting for the results. I am thinking that I am only approaching about 4 weeks, I believe I ovulated around july 27th, 28th... Does 80 seem low? I know she wants to see if it doubled, but I have now been a wreck that I am miscarrying again, and I am so scared....Any advice???

That beta seems fine for where you are......sometimes MDs should learn to keep their mouths shut.........

4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml

a beta of 80 at only 4 weeks (actually less when you took the blood test) doesn't seem low at all. it's the doubling that matters most, anyway - when do you get the results of your blood test?

Thanks...I agree they should of just sent me for more blood work as routine and should never have told me this after a miscarriage

My first beta was 80. I found out real early. Then they didn't double every 48 hours but every 72 hours. Some docs will tell you every 48 hours they have to double but it's really more like every 72. I have a beautiful 9 month old
