Is anyone else surprised about the low # of medals
won by the US so far?
China has 22 gold medals to date
we have 10
they have 35 overall, we have 34
I hope this changes significantly when the track & field events start

It doesn't surprise me at all.....The host country always does really well!
But we will win gold in volleyball & basketball and may even take some gold home tonight at the Women's gymnastics!

I just hope we do better in track & field!

I think the womans gymnastics team should get the god since there is no way the Chinese "woman" are older than 16.

I think it's wonderful when the US wins medals but I'm always more impressed with the number of qualifying athletes who represent our country at the Olympics. I think the number was over 250!

Re: Is anyone else surprised about the low # of medals
Last night was a good night for the US! The medal count is up to 44 with 14 gold, but it also occurred to me that in addition to track & field not starting yet, the tournament style sports are still going on.
The US women are dominating beach volleyball & softball, which are still going on.
The US is also doing well in women's soccer, and men's & women's basketball.

I was watching them yesterday and that 1st set had me nervous.
Those 2 are amazing their record is incredilbe.
Yesterday was a good day for the US!
