Spinoff- any mid-thirties moms of one not in a rush for #2?
I am 36, and the plan was that we'd try for #2 when DD was 1. She's almost 1 and a half now, and I just don't feel ready. I had some blood pressure issues during the pregnancy that are only now resolving themselves. And DD is very "spirited" and really running us ragged these days.
There's also part of me that would be happy with 1- but I don't want to look back and regret it down the line when it's too late to have another.
Anyone else?

I am 35, and my DD is 14 months. We are planning on having another, but I am just not ready yet. I still have 10 lbs to lose and do not want to get pregnant again until I lose it because I am afraid it will be that much harder to take off if I start at 10 lbs heavier. Plus, I am enjoying the sleep that I am finally getting. We think we may start to try again in the Spring. Some people think we should be trying right away because of my age, but I don't care!

That is my major concern. I am 33, and DS is 2. I would have liked to start trying this year or next, but realistically it wont be for another 2-3 yrs. I am not ready yet, I'm having too much fun w/DS right now and frankly we can't afford it w/2 in daycare. Once the $ situation changes, we'll reevaluate, and if I still am not ready, then I guess we'll be done! I didn't ever think I'd be OK w/that, but over time I have grown to be.

I'm 32 (almost 33). I am not in a rush to have #2. We are just not financially ready. I'm not ready to leave Manhattan and we can't afford for me to be a SAHM or for 2 kids in daycare. So we are waiting.

36 yr old - v soon to be 37 here and dc is 10 months - i'm in denial and refuse to even think about #2 until she turns 1 so that buys me a couple of months

I am 34, DS is 2.9 months and I don't feel that I am ready to have another baby. Maybe DS is going to be the only one.

Re: Spinoff- any mid-thirties moms of one not in a rush for #2?
This is me. I just turned 36 and DS is 7 months old. My DH would like to TTC #2 now- because of my age. He is afraid if we wait, there will be issues and he does not want DS to be an only child.
I would like to have one more, but want to wait until DS is at least a year old. I am nervous about secondary infertility too- but I am just exhausted and still adapting to working FT and taking care of one child- the idea of 2 -especially 2 under 2, scares me.
Not to mention that my labor and delivery was awful- and I will need a c-section again the second time around. SO the recovery would be harder with an infant and a toddler to take care of.

Re: Spinoff- any mid-thirties moms of one not in a rush for #2?
i'll be 35 when i deliver #2 and #1 will be 2 1/2. ideally i wanted to wait a bit longer, but due to several miscarriages i didn't know how long it would actually take to have #2, so we started once #1 turned one.
i always thought i only wanted 2, but now i have my days where i entertain the thought of 3. how i would pull THAT off i have no idea, but i would be "forced" (due to my own personal preferences and beliefs) to try again once #2 is one. any later and i don't think i would take on the challenge...
