I have no clue what to think (evap line or not?)

I hope you guys don't mind. I lurk on this site a lot, haven't officially posted much but read so much on the TTC board!


I took an EPT test before. It's the one with blue +/-. I THOUGHT i saw the faintest faintest vertical blue line. But i had to keep squinting and holding up to light to see.

I finally gave up, figure i'd test again in 2 days (i am 11 DPO). Just checked the trash....it's about 20 mins later. The vertical line is now completely there and the exact same blue as the horizontal line BUT the line is skinny. Not full like it prob should be.

Could I be PG? What do you think?? Sorry the questions, this is my first time TTC and nervous/hopeful!!

Sounds like a positive to me! I'd wait a couple of days and then test again.

I really hope so! I just think the line doesn't look like a typical positive. It's so so skinny...like the outline of one side of the plus if that makes sense..who knows?!?

I am guessing it's a fluke. I have gotten that on those tests before and it turned out the dye just "splashed" to create a little bit of a line. I would by a pink dye test (such as first response) and test again tomorrow morning using first morning urine (FMU)

It sounds like an evap line.

I would try another test like FRER with FMU tomorrow morning.

this is the postive test i got with a fact plus HPT at 10DPO



as you can see, both the vertical test line and the "positive" line (that runs horizontally) are MUCH fainter than the control line.

i never got a false positive with a blue dye test (and i have taken a few over the years )

i could barely, barely see the line when i took the test, and it definitely got darker as the day went on (um, YES i saved them - temporarily )

i would test tomorrow with FMU - good luck!

Test with FMU tomorrow. Sounds like it's an evap line you got.

I would go out to the store right now and buy another test.

When I got my faint line, I doubted it. I drank a whole lot of water, bought more tests and took 3 more tests within 2 hours to make sure.

The same thing happened to my mom when she had my little brother (yes... there are many many many many years between us...). She took the test, didn't see a line, threw it away and then went back to throw something else out into the garbage (like 20min-1/2hr. later) and the line was there... and took another test about 36hrs later and there was a full blown positive...

Wait a day or two and then test again!
