Ricky Martin is a father to twin boys born via a surrogate, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.
"In recent weeks, Ricky Martin became a proud father by the birth of twin sons," his rep tells PEOPLE.
"The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky's full-time care," the rep said in a statement. "Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children."
The boys' names and the location of their birth have not been released.
The "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer, 36, is a longtime supporter of children's causes around the globe through his Ricky Martin Foundation.

Wow he really fell off the celeb radar if this story is just news now that the babies are born.
So it is assumed that if someone is a father via surrogate that he is gay? Like Clay Aiken? I dont know...I know there were rumors he was gay but I had no idea if it was a rumor rumor or true rumor.
Whatever the case...Congrats to him! Those are gorgeous boys I'm sure.

I've always believed he was gay. I had a professor in college (an adjunct) who was so completely over-the-top obsessed with Menudo.. she got a job at a magazine and had interviewed several of the members from the 80's. She told me with 100% confidence he was gay.. who knows.
But I don't know any straight men that used a surrogate to become fathers.

When these pics were released a few years back the gay stuff started to come out about him...
Turned out the guy in the pics is his brother....

Ummm - Hello?! Men can't have babies.
A single woman can still get herself pregnant w/o a man in her life and raise a child, but a man can't have a baby w/o a woman to help him out !! Maybe he doesn't have a wife or girlfriend, but I'm sure he could find a woman willing to carry his child for him.........
Just b/c he had a surrogate, DOES NOT mean he's gay. - Although I DO think he is, it's not for THIS reason !
