When do you venture into your classroom?
I went in yesterday after being on maternity leave for a year. Happily, everything was where I left it  , but I have a LOT left to unpack and organize. I did 2 of the 4 bulletin boards, but left the massive back one for later this week or next.
It made me feel more ready to see my teacher stuff out in my room!

I,too, am returning back from maternity leave and teaching a new grade (1st). I went in a few days in July and went back yesterday and worked on my classroom library. I still have to rearrange furniture, do bulletin boards, unpack supplies and make things like signs and stuff for behavior/classroom management  So I'll be there all this week and I"m sure next week.

I set up last week. I couldn't think about it any more. Plus, I had trainings all of this week, so I knew this week would be a bust. I'm mostly done w/ the exception of writing names... on things since we don't get lists until th 25th.

ugh suppose I'm gonna have to this Thursday...I don't have too much to do. Just gotta put up some posters, take out my instruments, make a back to school bulletin board. Then again, I could go into my room and realize there are many more other things I didn't think about!
I just have this feeling that the custodians haven't gotten around to cleaning my room...usually they wax the floor by now. My room needs to be bombed pretty much - my room is also used as the lunch room. There are pros and cons to this as you can imagine- the biggest pro being that it's never truly clean and it smells!

i was there today, just because i was taking a teacher center course anyway. i set up my things and did some photocopying. i'll do a little more tomorrow and then i'm done.
i don't stress about it anymore like i used to.

I went back at the end of July. I'd go in like one day a week for about two hours while my daughter was at camp. I am switching classrooms and grade level. It was nice to be there while it was quiet. I am almost done setting up. I'll go in tomorrow and then that'll be it hopefully until I go back in two weeks. I might go in one more day next week. I had so many things to go through and organize. The previous teacher left a lot of things for me to sort through.

Ive been a couple of times already. Today I was there for about 4 or 5 hours and tomorrow I am going to do photocopying and stuff.

I started back this past Monday. And let me tell you, it is BRUTAL having to get back into this schedule again. We have to be at school no later than 7:00, and kids start coming into the room at 7:10.

In the past I have always made a point to get in there for at least a day before school starts. Now this year I may get in there just to make copies.

I don't venture in until Superintendent's Conference day. I teach high school, so aside from a bulletin board, I don't have anything to set up. I ususally take my lunch break that day to organize my desk and do my boards. Our second day back is also a conference day, so I'll probably find a few moments to make photo copies that day. Don't get me wrong, I've definitely started planning, but I do that at home.

I am not going in until we are required. I can't see lugging DD two hours each way to the city to set up my classroom. We usually have conferences on Thursday and get to set up our classroom on Friday. I teach in NYC.

I was in 2 days this week and my plan is 3 days next week. I could probably go back full-time at this point, but thankfully my lack of childcare won't allow me to!

Nope, I teach 5th grade. The elementary schools in my district start earlier, and the high school kids later.
The ONLY perk to having to be there so early is that I'm home by 2:30 most days.

Same here- my DH starts teaching Monday so I really can't get down there and I'd get nothing done if I had to bring my daughter. But I've been teaching a while and it won't take me as long as it used to.

Yup, my alarm goes off at 4:45 AM (I have to be up this early so DH and I can tag team it if the kids wake earlier than 6 am), out the door by 6:00, hopefully in school by 6:35 or so... first period starts at 7:20.
Honestly, I haven't slept past 5 am since DC's were born so no adjustment time needed here

(I am more motivated, though. I planned out all of AP AND Journalism. Progress...)

I have new teacher meetings on Wednesday and Thursday. The last half of Thursday is designated as prep time/room set up. I teach high school so I only have one bulletin board. Perhaps I should start thinking up ideas for my bulletin board At least I have been planning
