Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
For those of you who received a BFP with IVF. Would you mind posting your protocol on your successful cycle and how many cycles it took to get your BFP. I'm starting my second IVF with a new protocol and I think it would be interesting to see what has worked for people. Thanks!

Re: Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
I did Repronex (2 vials) and Follistim 300mgs. twice a day (4 shots per day!) for 12 days. Somewhere in there I added the Ganerelix.
I triggered with ovidrel on day 13 and had retrieval 2 days later and transfer 3 days later.
I was very, very lucky and it worked for me on the first time.
Good luck!!!!

I'm assuming since you used Ganerelix that you were not on Lupron?

No Lupron...and I forgot to mention that I did BCP's for 3 weeks before stimming.

You really can't compare protocols because everyone has different issues.
For example: I have PCOS so I don't get as many stims as others, but produce a lot of eggs. Some people have high FSH and are on heavier doses of stims for longer periods of time.
It's like comparing apples to oranges.

Re: Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
I just got my BFP on IVF#1. I will be 34 in a month and DH and I were diagnosed with unexplained IF. My IVF protocol was with minimal meds since I had already shown very good response to stim meds with injectible/IUI cycles. I was also on lowest dose of meds because I had OHSS during a injection/IUI cycle. Here is how it went:
1) 20 days of BCP 2) 75 IU Gonal F mixed with 75 IU Repronex injections 3) Added Ganirelix shot for last 3 days of stimming 4) HCG Trigger 5) Retrieved 20 eggs (11 fertilized) 6) PIO shots for 5 days 7) 5 day transfer of one embryo 8) Vivelle estrogen patches, progesterone suppositories & baby aspirin up to BFP 9) Stopped Vivelle patches but continue progesterone suppositories and baby aspirin until told to stop
HTH!

I completely understand that people have different issues requiring different protocols. I'm just interested in seeing what has worked for people.
There's really no harm in asking.

Re: Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
I didn't say there was any harm in asking...I just wanted people to be aware that each person has a different protocol for a reason. Otherwise, someone might look at someone else's successful protocol and start questioning their own.
FTR - my protocol on my last IVF was 22 days of BCP 2 Bravelle a.m. 2 Menopur p.m. 1 ml low-dose Ovidrel p.m. for five days then I added Ganerelix for three days Did HCG/had retrieval They retrieved 55 eggs/32 of which fertilized. I did not get PG on the 3DT, but I got PG on my first FET after this cycle.

Re: Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
both of my IVF cycles, my protocol was identical, except my Gonal-F was increased the 2nd cycle. I got a BFP both cycles, m/c after the first cycle, currently pregnant from my second cycle.

Re: Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
After the BCPs I did 2 vials of Gonal-F mixed with 1 vial of Repronex and added in Ganerelix at the end. Dexamethasone at night. I only stimmed for a short time (I think 5 days). HCG trigger, retrieval, 3 days later transfer.
I only did one cycle and ended up with my BFP. Originally there were two heartbeats, but one did not make it. I am now 14 weeks pg with one baby.
Good Luck!

Re: Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
I can't remember exactly how much of what when but here's basically what I did for my protocol: 21 days of BCP 10 days of menupor and Dexathasone Ganirelex for the the last few days of menopur HCG shot Progesterone shots
I also did acupuncture and meditated throughout the whole process and she came the day of my transfer. HTH! Good luck!
ETA: this was my first IVF cycle and we'rd dealing w/ male factor.

Re: Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
We have male factor IF, no issues with me. Here's what I think I did:
BCP's for 3-4 weeks Follistim- started at 200iu and was tapered down to 75iu over my 9 days of stims Ganirelix for the last 3 days of stims HCG trigger
We were extremely lucky to get PG off our first IVF. I responded very well to the meds and ended up with 38 eggs at retrieval

Re: Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
I have been wondering if my protocol will change any for my next cycle..I have PCOS .... I did bc first, then Lupron, the Gonal-f, Low dose HCG and triggered with Ovidrel. I am curious to see if any of that will change next time around.
Well, I did add one new med (Metformin) so I guess we'll see.. who knows.

Re: Attention: Ladies who received a BFP
I had kind of a strange protocol but will telll you anyway. I had no BCP. i started stims on natural day 4 I took Gonal and Menopur for about 6 days. Then I took Ganirelix for 3 in hopes that some of my smaller follies would catch up. They retrieved 8, fertilized 6, 5 made it to day three. We transferred two with none to freeze and are 21 weeks pregnant with twins. I had high fsh(14.9 I think) and 1 bad tube.

It's like comparing apples to oranges.
I'd also like to add, that the same person could do the same protocol themselves and get a completely different result each time. I'm not sure what information you're hoping to get but, here you go....
1st IVF
BCP's for 2 months Lupron 2x a day Follistim 2x a day - varying dosages 11 retrieved, 6 mature, 2 fertilized
BFP
2nd IVF
BCP's for 3 weeks Menopur - started at 3 vials a day and increased to 6. Ganerelix - added at day 6 of stims and continued for 2 days
11 retrieved, 6 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 made it to transfer. BFP but m/c
3rd IVF
BCP's for 3 wees Follistim 225 mixed with 3 vials of repronex - done IM Ganerelix added day 7 of stims and continued for days 8 and 9
I don't remember how many were retrieved. It was less than 11. They never told me how many were mature but, 3 fertilized. Transferred 2 and froze 1. BFN
This next cycle, we are going back to menopur but starting on the 6 vials. 3 in the am and 3 in the pm and we'll continue the ganerelix for a little longer.
