Re: Who wants to....
this is mine. does this help?
I sent this out earlier in the summer to my parents.
August 2008
Dear Families: Welcome to 5th grade! I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and are looking forward to an exciting school year! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and offer a glimpse into what the school year ahead holds for your child! This is my fourth year teaching at XXXXXXXXXX School District and XXXXXXX School. I have also had varying teaching experiences in New York City and Chicago. I am excited to start a new school year with your child. This year, your child will be working closely with me in two settings. Primarily, they will work with me in a small-group setting specifically designed for their learning needs. They will also work with me when they are included in the general classroom setting with Mrs. XXXXXXX’s class. Your son or daughter may also be working with other teachers in the building for services such as speech/language therapy with Mrs. XXXX and occupational therapy with Ms. XXXXXX. Enclosed please find a Student Information Sheet. As a parent, you can provide me with invaluable information that will help me get to know your child and his/her needs. I have also enclosed a survey with your child to return to me so that I can get to know them a little better from their perspective. Finally, I have enclosed a Teacher-Parent Contact sheet that would be most helpful to me if you would complete it. Kindly send the sheets to school with your child on the first day of school. Regarding school supplies, please visit the following link for the supply list: http://www.blahblahblah In addition to studying government and geography, exploring scientific ideas, learning multiplication and division and reading a variety of books, we will also be working on basic skills that need reinforcement and development. The small group setting I provide will give your child the support and encouragement he/she needs. It is my hope to involve you in not only the products of learning, but in the process as well. Please feel free to contact me at school with any questions or concerns you might have. I can also be reached via e-mail at [email protected]. I look forward to meeting all of you and working with your child this school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. XXXXXXX XXXXXX School
