Spinoff of first appt...
Did anyone not have a lengthy first sono appt at 8 weeks? I keep seeing posts about a 1 hr appt and mine was prob about 1/2 hr. He did an internal sono and then just answered some questions for me. He didn't take family history or a pap and am just curious...

Re: Spinoff of first appt...
They did a history and an internal exam, pap, and blood work. I guess all together it was 45 minutes-1 hour. I didn't get a sono at my 1st appt. My doctor only does the level II at 20 weeks. Have you already been seeing this doctor before you got pregnant? Maybe that's why they didn't take a history or do a pap. My appointment was my first ever at the practice.

It took about an hour. They did urine and blood tests. Internal exam/pap. Internal Sono. Family history. And spoke to us for a bit.

Re: Spinoff of first appt...
My first appt after the m/c was quick. He already did a pap 1 month before, had my medical history and they don't do bloodwork at the drs. I have to go to a lab for all tests.
I didn't even get an internal exam that day, just a sono, he said i was much more relaxed, and sent me on my way. prob 15-20 min tops
I have been going to this dr for 3 years

Re: Spinoff of first appt...
Yes I have been going to him for about 3 years so maybe that is why? But I am surprised that all he did was a sono. No pap (though I had one done when I saw him for an annual in August). They didn't even take blood for my 8 weeks sono appt. The nurse took my blood pressure... didn't even check my weight! Should I be concerned? Maybe once I am the full 12 weeks, then he'll take all that information since I'll be "in the clear?" Just find it odd. I really like him but this is making me wonder...
