well, im off
to do my first 10k. the Nike Human Race at Randalls Island. start time: 6pm. I am starting to freak!!!!

I m back! unless they change the course or the location, I wouldnt do this run next year. IT was soo narrow and in one place we were walking for almost a half a mile due to that. The course looped the saem course twice, so when the front runners came though on their second loop, we had to go to almost single file. INSANE! Also, a ton of construction, so the footing was rocky in a lot of places.
it was a lot of fun for me, though, as i was just there for fun and not trying to make time. i would recommend it for that.
i finished in 1:19, which iI am disappointed with, but I have to remember how much I walked after mile 3.

congrats! at least you got the feel of a 10K and now know what you like and don't like!
Cow Harbor is 9/20 and a REALLY well run race.
