Re: Field trip ideas?
Not sure if you are in NYC but the Queens Zoo is a great trip. It is smaller and loops in a big circle. It gives a lot of great information about the animals to the kids. There is also a petting zoo. The hall of science has added some nice new exhibits as well. I think that the Queens Farm is doing aple pressing and makes cider for the kids. Booking is tight though since it is really popular.

Re: Field trip ideas?
Ooooh..the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay has a GREAT program called "Playing with Plants". We went in May last year, and are going again this year! The students get to walk through the grounds, and see lots of different plants. Then they learn about how a plant grows using a felt board, and then they plant their own seeds to take home. We LOVED it!
