UPDATE: Wish me luck- off to the drs today.
I FINALLY get to talk to/meet w/ MY dr to go over all of this! (wow- who'd have thought I'd be SO excited about this ) I just want some closure/answers- and am hoping to get them today, or at least enough. Plus I'd like to get a plan as to where we go from here and what we should be doing in the meantime. Thank you all again! It was a month ago today that we got our first beta test..... I can't believe that it's been a whole month since I spoke to MY dr, especially w/ all that's gone on. I'll update later!
UPDATE: Thanks everyone. Today was a good day. I have never been SO happy to see Dr. K! He saw us sitting in the waiting room and his face kind of lit up, which was a totally diff. reaction than I was expecting. I told him how much I missed him this past month but that I hoped he had a good vacation and he said he did. He brought us right back to his office and we sat in silence for a few mins while he went over my chart and made his notes. We went over everything and though I technically don't have any answers/closure, I am feeling as though we have a plan and he is still working on figuring out whether this was etopic or chemical. I am going for an HSG on Wednesday, which he said could help us figure this out b/c if my tubes are free and clear then I most likely had a chemical pregnancy, but if there's an issue in one of them, then it 'could' have been etopic (though we'll never truly know). I've never had an HSG done (he did a water sono and felt that everything looked clear to him). I am also getting drawn for Tenn. bloods as well as getting 4 other blood tests done. He's also testing to see if my liver enzymes are normal and if all of my bloodwork comes back ok, he's considering putting me back on my metformin. He mentioned the other blood tests and I asked him if it was a frequent miscarriage panel of tests and he said sort of, but his own... so I'm going for them as well. We spoke about doing another stim cycle vs. an FET cycle and he said he's completely in agreement with my reasoning behind wanting to do each one so he was going to leave it up to me. So now DH and I have to figure this out. I have an idea what I want to do, but I'll have to see if my DH is in agreement... That's pretty much it I think. They also had me come back in and did a beta test to make sure it was negative (standard protocol) before getting my HSG done and the woman (don't think she was a nurse) from the back of the administrative part went back to talk w/ Dr. K to determine if I needed to take doxycycline again, which he said I didn't b/c I just took it in the past 3 months... and it stays in your system longer than that. So, I'm not concrete w/ a plan yet, but we're getting there!!! I feel much more optimistic today and looking to the future, rather than on this past, which I'm so glad about. I knew seeing him would give me some sort of closure, even if it wasn't complete.

Glad to hear it went well...did he say how long you are going to have to wait before doing either a FET or another IVF cycle?

Re: UPDATE: Wish me luck- off to the drs today.
I am glad everything went well with your appt. today. I was just curious. . .did you ever have the blood test that checks to see if you have a clotting disorder? When I was going through my IVF cycle a friend of mine had her 2nd miscarriage. She ended up finding out that she has a clotting disorder. I asked east coast Fert. if they do that test and they told me only after 2 miscarriages. I am now 12 weeks preg. with twins and My ob/gyn sent me to see Dr. Kofinas. Dr. Kofinas saw that my placentas were deteriorating. He asked right away if I was tested for the clotting disorder. He started me on 2 shots a day of lovenox. When i went back this past week for my results it ended up I did have that disorder and if he didn't catch it I would have miscarried by 24 weeks b/c my placentas would have continued to deteriorate from the blood clots. Sorry this is so long and I took over this thread. I didn't mean to do that. I just feel like I want to spread the word for everybody to get that panel of blood work done. Good Luck and I pray for you and your husband that everything works out.

Thanks Gerty. Yes, he said 3 months. He said that's 'standard protocol' and though it would 'probably' be ok after a month, he felt it was a standard protocol for a reason... so 3 months it is. They also told me they don't do transfers after the 2nd week in Dec. or something like that, so it will depend on when they can start to cycle me in- it could be Nov, otherwise it sounds like early January (transfer time)--- not really sure yet...

Re: UPDATE: Wish me luck- off to the drs today.
glad to hear the appointment went well, i saw dr. k recently too and it was good to finally see him after my transfer cancellation
someone mentioned getting yourself checked for blood clotting issues related to miscarriages, if they find something, make sure you see a hematologist, they can do further testing and really give you a lot of information
i did, and i've been told i have to be on baby aspirin all my life, and on lovenox or heparin if i get pregnant

Thanks sweetie! He did mention that's one of the tests he's doing today. I have a friend who had a miscarriage who demanded they do the frequent miscarriage panel of tests after 1 miscarriage (and she also has a clotting issue), which is why I was going to ask him about it today- but honestly, he beat me to it!

SOunds good. Good thing you don't have to take the doxy again. That stuff is nasty! It made me so sick!
Good Luck with the HSG.

Re: UPDATE: Wish me luck- off to the drs today.
Glad you are feeling better. The HSG is not bad (unless of course you get someone that doens't know the room and fumbles with your hooha standing free and clear for 20 minutes before they locate the right equipment which should have been put out b/f you got there......only me!)
I had to do a beta also b/f my HSG. Which kind of annoyed me b/c the first one I did I didn't have to do that, but now that was over a year ago.
Did he say how long you have to wait for another cycle (no matter fresh or FET)?
