Party planning question

I'm having my daughter's first birthday party on saturday and I don't know how much I should buy of:

Wine
Beer (not a keg)
Soda
Water
Juice boxes

There will be 80 adults 30 kids ranging from little babies to 18.

Any suggestions?

TIA

That's a lot of people! Chat Icon

Are you going with soda cans or bottles?

Whatever you do, buy from someplace like Target where you can return the unopened stuff!

You might get better responses on the parenting boards from Mommies who have done parties with little kiddies

I don't know if I should do bottles or cans. This is the first "real" party we are throwing. I'm clueless. Great suggestion about getting from somewhere we can return the unopened stuff.

Re: Party planning question

Juiceboxes - I think at least 2-3 per kid depending on how long the party is.

Beer - you have to think about how many beer drinkers you have. My rule of thumb is 3-4 beers per guest, some drink more, some less, some none at all -you know?
My advice DON'T cool it all b/c you're stuck being forced to somehow keep the leftovers cold otherwise they go bad

Wine - You can always use wine so I usually think 1 bottle per 2-3 people

Soda - 1 bottle per 2-3 people as well

I'd also stock up on bottled water in the coolers as well. -

But in all honesty. all of my parties have been grown ups only, and our friends/family are big drinkers .........Chat Icon Ociassionally I have the kids @ a BBQ or something, and then I buy for them, but you're talking like, 4 kids at MOST at a time. - so it may be different for a child's 1st Bday -

The party is at 3pm. I have a feeling some of our friends will stay pretty late.
