Met's Fans... lets discuss..
so last night was HUGE for them with a win!
you think they have a chance for the pennant??
boy i hope so! 
ETS... i thought the brewers lost..but didnt..

I was gonna say--Milwaukee definitely won. Still good for the Mets though, if they can keep winning it will help them. Honestly unless the Phillies start blowing it I don't think they will win the pennant, I think they will win the wild card as long as the Cubs play the Brewers hard in the last series and the Mets can continue to win.
DH is the Mets fan, but my Yankees are out of it so there you go

only 1 game up on the brewers
the other starters need to pitch flawlessly, and as long into the game as they can
and the bats have to be on fire

After last season, I kept my expectations of the Mets low, so I'm not holding my breath right now with squeaking by. If they do make it to the first round, they are not going to make it past it. We have no bull pen. Even the starting pitching worries me with the exception of Johan & Pelfrey. Even Pelfrey has his moments like his last start when he didn't have it. Ollie, some outings you don't know what your going to get. Pedro????? Enough said. I love the man, I think he's great, but its time to hang it up.
Tonight is going to be a tough game because you have Ollie against Zambrano. I know Zambrano's last start was horrendous compared to the previous start when he pitched a no-hitter. Ollie and the rest of the team are going to have to play tonight like its game 7 of the World Series.
My fellow Mets fans, I give you a lot of credit for being so optimistic. A lot!!!!

i totally understand where you are coming from!! i honestly think the same.. i am "trying" to be an optimist..but its hard with this team..
so yea i "think" they will make it to the 1st round...but i just dont think they will make it past that.. the bullpen cannot do it.. they are flat out HORRIBLE!
BUT with that said.. look at the teams like.. colorado last year... or the Cardinals in 06 .. (wild card team)
Anything can happen in baseball as we all know  SO we will see... but yea i dont think it looks good..

at least one good thing comes out of this... none of us had any expectations like we did last year.. that was just horrific..
this season they were consistently UNconsistent

I am trying to be realistic. With our bullpen and inconsistency, I don't expect us to go far in the playoffs. I think that we will get there, but if we win the pennant, I will be very happily surprised.
I'd rather have low expectations than feel crushed like last year.
