You aren't done with them yet - they try really hard to get you back... DH set up an appt and cancelled it with them and the supervisor called. DH blew him off and said he was crazy busy this week and they sent someone to our house yesterday to re-install!!! 
They called again today...

verizon is great in respect to its picture quality however, they have problems with service, the price is on average the same as CV when your speical rate expires and billing can be a nightmare.
Internet speed for an avg user is the same and they give you a speed that is not realistic in the real world.

What happened?
After they get you as a new service and do the initial hook up their customer service is the pits. I can not tell you how many days I have waiting at home waiting for them to come with no phone or internet and no one showing. This has happened to be at least 7 times!!! Now I am just accepting the fact that my internet is painfully slow and my phones won't always work. We will be moving in a couple of months so I am just dealing.

My in-laws switched to Fios as well...and then actually switched back to Cablevision. They were very unhappy with Fios. But some people are very unhappy with Cablevision.

We switched from Directv and Verizon Phone/computer over to Cablevisions triple play! Pretty happy so far.

I have Fios and love it. The one time I had a problem with my dvr they fixed it over the phone in 5 minutes

There is no "best" provider. For me, I've had nothing but horrible experiences and higher costs from Cablevision, and nothing but lower costs, good customer service, and good quality from FiOS. Even if Cablevision paid me, I still don't think I would switch back.
Ask 10 people their opinions, and you'll get a dozen different answers....
