Cannon Rebel XTI
For those who have this camera, (or any other DSLR). When I take pictures indoors, they usually come out pretty dark. I leave the setting on auto, and use the flash. I don't know what's going on. My question is, what setting should I have it set out for them to come out better?
Thanks...

Re: Cannon Rebel XTI
no advice, but just wanted to say that we have a digital rebel and i just had the same problem at a wedding. the pictures from inside the church came out really dark! DH was in the wedding so he wasn't right there to help me... but he seems to think that the flash just isn't big enough on the camera... can;t wait to hear if anybody else has any advice!

Re: Cannon Rebel XTI
first, if you don't have one already, invest in a speedlite flash (make sure the model is compatible with your camera, i have a first generation rebel with older equipment). to get decent photos in low light you need to play around with the aperture and shutter speed combo in the manual setting. you may also need a different lens to get the desired effect, but that's only after you've played around and gotten frustrated enough with the speedlite

Re: Cannon Rebel XTI
I got the external flash recently and it made a HUGE difference! Plus I started shooting in Apperature Priority mode instead of auto and I am able to adjust it for the low light. Be sure to use the smallest f-stop to give you the most light through the lens and set your ISO as high as it can go for low light.
