digital scrapbooking and photoshop
If I download some digital scrapbooking things (don't really know what the right terms are) how do I use it with photoshop? Will it be something that I add as a layer when I create cards and stuff? Does this even make any sense???

Photshop is image editing software, whatever you download has to be a readable file format, things like : .psd .jpg .tif .bmp .pdf
The software isn't layout software, so if you are downloading tempaltes, it may not work as you planned.
If you download various elements as images (the file formats listed above) you can arrange them on different layers so they appear above or below other elements in your composition.
HTH, I'm not really sure if this is what you were asking.

This is what I am looking to do. How do go about downloading them?
I basically want more choices when I make my holiday cards and birthday invitations on Photoshop.

Re: digital scrapbooking and photoshop
I would Google digital scrapbooks or clip art. If you are looking for something specific, like a santa hat, you could search under google images.
I did a search for digital scrapbook on google and this site came up
I downloaded an alphabet to test it, they are in .png which photoshop can read, they are also already on a transparent background which will be helpful for layering your composition
Have fun!
