Halloween costume- FOUND IT!
I posted a couple weeks back about my frustration finding an APPROPRIATE costume to wear for our costume parade at my school.
Well....I wanted to be Mary Poppins but it's very expensive and very heavy. I went to a costume rental place, and I thought of being Maria in the Sound of Music (notice the 'musical' theme). But then it hit me- why not Eliza in My Fair Lady? My all-time dream role. I literally felt fulfilled the day I played this role.
So....this is my costume
from my favorite scene in the show/movie! Mine isn't exactly like this but it works.
I'm so excited!
I like to try to be a musical character, one that the kids would recognize. I guarantee you my kids won't know this one - and I don't care!
Last year I was Annie (little orphan)....and my kids were asking me who I was!! I have a lot of work to do!!
The best part? He rented it to me for only $30 because I 'identified' it for him- he had no idea what it was from!

That's such a nice costume for not a lot of money! It's going to look so cute! I love how you keep the musical theme!

that's awesome! i love my fair lady too. although i think it's time to share some of the music from the show to the kids, they will have no idea who you are. also, they will have no idea what the hell an ascot is!
