How did you find your peditrician?

Though I have some time.... I'm starting to look into this.
How did everyone find their ped.?
Did you go through reccomendations? Just walk into an office and start asking questions?
Did you actually interview them (like the books tell you to?)

I didn't interview, but I did go by a few recommendations from friends. My son went to one other before the one I have now. I've been using her for almost 8 years and have not had any complaints.

my obgyn rec him. I ended up switching two months later. He was a NUT!! I ended up switching to one my friends recommended. I love him now.

Our friends go there and highly recommended them and then we set up an interview. I had a bunch of questions written down but never needed to ask them because they answered all of them when they met with us.

I went off of a friend's recommendation. Initially we didn't have one and we went with my OB/GYN's recommendation for the in-hospital check-up such as it was. He was a FLAKE. For his first visit at 4 days old we went to the practice my friend goes to and we've loved it ever since.

2 of my friends go to my pediatrician and I liked what I heard about them I actually went with one of my friends to see the office and sit in on a visit and I liked what I saw and how friendly they were plus that they were open every day of the year and open late as well.

The Nurses in the NICU recommended him...they also bring their children there...every so often I see them in the office.

My cousin uses them & when I told my OB that I would probably use them. He said thats where my kids go. I was sold after that

My friend and her sister bring their kids there. I did interview one of the doctors before the baby was born to make sure that we were on the same page in terms of immunizations, etc.

DH and I researched the 3 large offices here in our area and then looked up the doctors online. A lot of info was provided on each of the doctors, as far as their degrees and specialties. This really helped us come to a decision on when picking our Peditrician. Also a few suggestions from friends.

The nurses at Winthrop recommended my pediatricians. They also brought their children there and worked with them at the hospital.

I asked my ob/gyn while I was in labor if he had any recommendations. I had planned on finding one the following week but went 6 weeks early.

I take my kids to the pediatrician that I went to as a child

My aunt's children have been patients for my ped. for many, many years and it just happened to be in my neighborhood. Plus many girls online that I know use this office. I didn't even bother to interview - it was an easy decision for me.

I didnt interview them, but I went on the recommendation of a friend who is a pediatrician.

My friend's son goes to the ped and her brother's children (ranging in ages 7-15) have gone to him since they were newborns. I met with him before my son was born but didn't really interview him b/c he answered all my questions b/4 I could ask. I love him. He doesn't have a service, when you call him after hours it rings to his house

I found my pedi group through 2 recommendations from ladies on a board I chat with. I called them up, spoke with them, and although I didn't interview them per say, I took a trip to the office to check it out. Plus they were affiliated with the hospital I gave birth at, so that was a plus.

one of the nurses that taught the prenatal course gave me a list of pediatricians and highly reccommended my doctor. hes really nice and took the time out to explain info. very happy.

I went to the pediatrician I used while growing up but I still interviewed them.

I also have my brother as a back up ( he is a pediatrician but in Houston) This was very helpful with Jacob having a stomach bug this week which he is still getting over. (This has not been a fun week). I did call my ped but I would call my brother everyday to update on his nephew's condition and it gave me more confidence that I was doing everything that I could to make him fel better..
