Doctors in the city? Can anyone help me?
Hi ladies! I joined this forum over the summer when I thought I would be moving to Long Island. It turns out I won't be buying a house for a few more years so I'm just here in my tiny apartment in Brooklyn....blah blah blah.
I have read several recommendations for doctors in Long Island. (I am keeping one of the doctors I read about here as a backup plan). I was wondering if there is anyone who has a recommendation for a doctor in Brooklyn or NYC? Maybe you have a friend or relative that could give a recommendation? I'm desperate here.
I've had a few bad experiences with my pregnancies and/or doctors and hospitals so I'm really nervous this time around.
I should be due around 6/7 but still haven't had my first prenatal visit because I'm having such a hard time finding a doctor/hospital.
Thanks so much in advance.

I see Dr. Samuel Bender in the city (90th and Madison). I love him! He was recommended to me by a friend and I have been 100% happy. The number to his office is 212.722.7409. He delivers at Mt Sinai, and I have heard wonderful things about Mt Sinai. (I was born there, too.) Let me know if you have any questions

Re: Doctors in the city? Can anyone help me?
i just made an appointment with Park Shlope Midwives who seem really nice and promising. they have three offices (park slope, borough park, and williamsburg), a few women in the practice, and an ob that consults with them. i read some pretty good reviews of them online too, so i'm hoping for the best. my appt. is on nov 12th, so i'll let you know how it goes then. oh, and they deliver at methodist.
i've had a lot of trouble finding drs/midwives too. it's actually really frustrating. my reg dr said the number of obs is on the decline but will come back up eventually. it just sucks for us now. the hospitals are actually doing away with their ob units which is crazy.
btw - where in brooklyn are you? we're in prospect heights and actually have a very similar situation to yours (house idea isn't working right now, so one bedroom it is).

I have a group in the columbia Presbyterian office building on E. 60th that I love. They deliver at Columbia. I would be happy to share that information if you think you would be interested in them. They have a high risk group in the same office as well as their sonos.

I really love Rachel Masch at NYU...she was warm and wonderful! I had to move to the high risk portion of the practice when I became diabetic and they were more medically thorough and constantly running tests but she had the BEST bedside manner!!
Her office is in the main hosp bldg at NYU... all labs and sonos done in one place - very convenient...

I was seeing Dr. Min at Downtown Women-- down in Soho affiliated with NYU. I needed to switch to a high-risk doc though, and have been seeing Dr. Zervoudakis at NY Presbyterian.
I would recommend either of them.

My dr is at Cornell Medical associates. There are 2 offices, one on the east side, one on the west. I go to the east side office. All of the drs there are wonderful. They are affiliated with NY Presbyterian/Cornell Medical Center. http://www.weillcornell.org/cma/obgyn/
Just click on east side or west side to get the dr. listing.
