Circumcision Done Wrong????
I am very concerned that the circumcision was done wrong...his COMPLETE penis gets "sucked" into his body...looks like a little belly button where it would normally be. I am thinking maybe they cut off TOO MUCH skin and therefore his WHOLE penis goes inward. NO shaft or anything on the outside. I have to press on the area to get it to pop out. He is only 9mos. The doctor says it is because he is chubby...I have seen chubby baby boys and never have I seen the head get sucked into the body too! Has anyone ever experienced this? It is not my son and I am wondering if I should take him to another doctor for a second opinion...he is family. I am concerned that they cut too much foreskin and don't want to wait too long if he needs surgery to fix it before he is older. HELP!
11/3/08: HI EVERYONE! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR RESPONSES, IT MADE ME FEEL SOOOO MUCH BETTER! ALTHOUGH I HAVE NOT TAKEN HIM FOR A SECOND OPINION *YET* I AM HAPPY TO KNOW THAT SOME OF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS AND EVERYTHING IS FINE. GOD BLESS AND I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED!

Re: Circumcision Done Wrong????
if you are concerned i would get a second opinion. I dont know enough about penis's to say. my son was circum. and the skin started to re-attach, it took several months to heal properly and we went through it re-attaching then pealing apart agian- it SUCKED! if i have another boy, i probably wont circum. him.

Re: Circumcision Done Wrong????
The same thing happened to my nephew...and he was chubby as well...we were concerned about it too...they have a name for it, but I can't remember. It used to scare me when I would change him. He is now 17 months, and I have to say, I am not sure if it still happens....I will have to ask my SIL. I know that she was concerned about the circumcision not being done correctly as well. I will let you know when I find out more info.

Re: Circumcision Done Wrong????
I've heard about this before...i've also seen it on Dr.90210. It's most common in chubby babies...it's called a hidden penis.

Re: Circumcision Done Wrong????
Lukie has that. My ped has given me the exact same reason. The fat pad in the area is much bigger. It will go away as he gets older, according to my ped. My hubby wants to get a second opinion which I am not opposed to but just haven't gotten yet. My ped (who was my ped so he has some experience lol) said it is common in chubby babies (lukie was 12lbs at 2 months he was born at 7) His penis pops out when we push down on the sides. I am hoping for the best but if by age 2 there is no change at all I will take him for a second opinion. (He is 20 months BTW)

Re: Circumcision Done Wrong????
My DS has the exact same thing and his ped says the same things, since he's chubby it's like that. I hope it fixes itself or I will need to get a 2nd opinion as well, really hoping they didn't mess his thing up.... My first son did not have that, but he wasn't as chubby as my ds is now. He is 7 months and 21 pounds now, that's a chubster for real. lol...

Re: Circumcision Done Wrong????
This happened to my son! I was sick over it for months and the Dr. kept telling me once he thins down, it'll be fine. Once he was about 3, he did slim down and all is fine. But I really really know that worry! It will be ok.
