Vehicle Parking Regulations on Private Property
Can anyone tell me where I can find information on or how many vehicles can be parked on residental property in NYC?

I have never heard of there being a limit
my landlord parks at least 6 at her house- they paved the side yard
and the person next to her rents out the space

If there is a limit it would be part of the zoning regulations. You'll have to find out what zone the area is (there are usually multiple categories of residential zones) and then find out what is allowed that in that specific zone.
You could contact the City Planner for information or look on the website
