Thanks.. The company took another big hit and lost half a million dollars. Staff cuts were being made in all three offices. He could not afford the overhead any more. They are doing bad. I was offered 3 weeks severance and one month reimbursement for health insurance thru Cobra.

So did I!!! Yesterday!! they told me that I have three months notice (funny coincidence that these upcoming three months also happen to be our BUSY SEASON.)
ETA: not to sound ungrateful for the 3 months notice, but seriously, during our busy season I work from about 8:30 - 9 or 10pm each day! I am not even bonus eligible as it is, but now in addition, I am going to be unemployed after the busy season because I will have had no time or energy to job search or interview, if I even get any interviews b/c so many others are also in this unemployed state.
I'm trying to look at this with my rosy eyeglasses. I just need to find them - must have stuck them in a drawer somewhere "safe" so I didn't lose them.

My co. just went through round 2 of layoffs. It's so horrible!!!! I've been off for a week and a half and haven't been told that I don't have a job but.... I go back tomorrow so I'll know for sure

I'm sorry My company is also suffering and they're talking about "making changes" because they just lost a huge account. Everyone here is walking around miserable because they don't know if they're going to be next. It's such a horrible environment to be in.

yup. it really sucks. my company just announced today that they laid off 7,000 people. crazy. finding a new job is going to be very challenging in this environment with lots of people on the street

Personally, I would find another company before the busy season so I would do the hard work for the new company if I could.
