How much does unemployment pay
Say you got laid off after working for about 3 months. How do they figure how much you get?

thanks I saw that website and they give prevailing wages... does that mean they get 40 hours a week at the prevailing wage?? Im slow

I am almost positive that you have to be working steady for 6 months. I know at my job we have gotten the questionnaire for people that were fired a few months ago and they need our information along with the current job they just left.

This is true, but it is also true that you have to have worked 6 months to get unemployment as well.
It is a percentage of what you were making up to $405/week. I just got let go from my job and my unemployment award is $403/week.

An estimate: if you earned $40,000 a year...you'd get about $300 a week. The most you can get it $405 a week.

I dont know how true the second part is-bc my friend was making less than that, i think ALMOSt 35, and she got paid the max-405 a week....
