Question...

Do you ladies "need" to know the specifics about the baby growing in the early part of PG? Meaning, do you need to know what the exact size is at each appointment (mm the baby is at what time of the week), and what the heartrate is or is it good enough to hear the doctor say that everything looks great, and be happy with what they say? I'm just wondering because I go on Fertility Friend also, and over there the norm is to know what size the baby is in beginning (what mm) and what the heartrate is, etc. I'm just learning to see that the more details I know, the more I question things and worry, to see if everything is ok. My baby at 6w3d was 6.1mm, and comparing that to other women on FF their babies seem to have been larger by that point. I really think I need to stop going on that website. It only seems to make me worry more than anything else. How do you girls handle everything? I'm thinking that I'm probably better off, not knowing the details and just take the everything looks great and is perfect! I don't think the doctors are going to lie to me. What do you think? i only got an "everyting looks good": at my 6week appt and at this point thast all i need tohear. we saw a hb and i didnt ask how fast or how big it was she did say it was measuring 6w1d when iw as really 6 w 3d but i know its not a big deal

I love and trust my doctors and as long as they say everything looks good...well that's enough for me! Be careful with the internet, there is enough stuff out there to scare the crap outta anyone.

If you have copies of your u/s pictures, all that info is printed on them sometimes.

I really think you need to stay away from that website and comparing your pregnancy and baby to other women. You seem so stressed out and I hate to see that, this is supposed to be a happy time for you Between the spotting you had and this and over analyzing things, it can't be good for you or the baby. PLease try not to over think everything, you have a long road ahead of you with this pregnancy and you need to realx and enjoy it. I hope you consider it...I hate to see anyone have a hard time like this.

I never got into many of the specifics of my test results. As long as the doctor said "everything looks great" that is good enough for me. All I ever asked at the sonos is how big is the baby (weight) and what is it measuring in comparison to my calculated due date. Some ladies on here are really "with it" and know the numbers of their HCG levels and other blood tests and what they should be at different times in the pregnancy. I knew nothing, and just trusted the doctor.

I was seeing an RE for infertility when I got pg, and when I went for my first blood test my hcg levels were really low (27!). I can't tell you how many sleepless nights I had in the weeks after that-- before every blood test, before every sono. I'd go to the RE in the morning and my heart would be pounding all day till I got my results. Then I'd take the info I had gotten and start researching like crazy on the web--- was it NORMAL?

Finally my DH suggested I just ask them not to tell me the exact numbers for things like hcg, progesterone, etc. They'd call me with the results, just tell me "your numbers are fine", and that was enough. There was no longer anything to research or compare on the internet. I felt like the weight of the world was lifted off me.

Please don't overanalyze like I did! I didn't enjoy my first trimester at all, and I regret that.
