What are some things I could have my 1st graders 'vote' on?
I am going through the whole election process and on Monday, I want to have a mock election.
I need ideas. We would come up with the pros and cons of each choice and then do a secret ballot.
Anything?

Read two books and vote for favorite
Do they like dogs or cats better?
Not sure if you do centers but if you do, favorite center.
Just some ideas, hope that helps.

I think reading two books and making them vote for which one they like better is a great idea! This way, they have to listen to what each book has to say, then make a decision based on what they heard. Very similar to an election!

Well...we did it on our favorite cookie. We sampled the 'candidates' and then voted! It was a silent ballot and I even made them sign in like we do.

CUTE!! Good choice! I bet they enjoyed sampling the candidates! That would be my favorite part!
