Advice about a request for a 2nd interview

I started a new job, I am in my 4th week.

During my first week at the new job I interviewed for a job at a company I REALLY wanted to work for.

I received a call yesterday requesting a 2nd interview. I am interested but afraid it will be less money.

I called the woman back and left a voicemail.

My question is . . .

-How can I find out the salary before going on the interview?

Just ask. I am a recruiter and I get people all the time asking me what the salary range is? It's perfectly normal. You just want to make sure you are on the same page.

does this place know what your current salary is? (I mean, at the place before your new job that you reference.) If they do, I'd say it's safe to continue - they know they have to match/beat it. I would also be totally upfront with them and say that you're so excited, you really would love to work for them, but you already started a new job and you want to know where you stand with this 2nd interview place. i had something like this happen once, they were very happy that I had been so honest with them.
