did/does your infant wear shoes?
my DD hates shoes. she'll just kick them off.
so, I put her in just socks. I know she does not need them, but I feel like when we are out she is "under dressed". So I wanted to see if most people do put their baby in shoes.

I just started putting shoes and socks on Rylan when the weather started changing. I have a little bit of a sneaker addiction so he has a few pairs.
At home no shoes or socks. I have yet to find socks that aren't to tight on his chubby little ankles. Everything leaves deep indents.

nope... socks only. My rationale is that he doesn't walk, so no shoes are necessary...
I've heard that it's actually not good to regularly put them in shoes becuase it restricts movement in their feet and therefore limits muscle development....

We never put shoes on DS until he could actually walk.
Also a Pediatric Orthopedist told us the best thing you could do for your child is to not put shoes on them until they can walk, and even then only when they are outside.
Being baerfoot helps with their foot developement much more.

At home or if its warm outside she is barefoot. Socks only if its cold.

That is what I thought too, I guess it's the psychology of expecting to wear shoes out?

We generally don't put shoes on Kaydyn (I think she's worn shoes once or twice) and we have the hardest time keeping socks on her. So sometimes she's out with bare feet. As soon as we put socks on her....she pulls them right off...it's a never ending battle. Once she can walk...we'll put her in shoes.

My 7-month old boy doesn't normally wear shoes, but I second guess it all the time. We went to a christening yesterday so I bought shoes to match his outfit. Looked so cute! I'm waiting until he can walk to put shoes on him regularly.

Just socks! DS did not wear shoes until he was 14 months. He only started walking at 16 months.

DS did not wear any shoes until he started walking at 11 months.
He was in socks or barefoot until then.

Yep. I put DS in shoes since day one. We started with the soft bottom shoes and then transitioned to walking shoes when he was ready.
He kicked them off in the beginning too, but eventually it became way easy to get them on. Now he *helps* put them on.

If we are going out like a b'day party or somethign I would put shoes on DD to me she's underdressed without shoes.
If we're just running to the store i would just put socks on

nope my 2 1/2 mon old does not wear shoes sometimes ill put the soft crushable type infant shoes on her if we go out but not often

Elizabeth wears shoes every day.
I take them off when we're home but I feel like she's missing something when she's just wearing socks. Plus, she's in day care and when her shoes come off (as I know they will today because they're too big) her socks come home FILTHY because she always wants to be on her feet.
